Demantra Appoints Joseph J. Lawless Excutive Vice President of Sales and Marketing; Seasoned Industry Veteran Brings Highly Successful Software Sales and Sales Management Experience.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 25, 2002

Demantra, a leading provider of consumer demand-driven supply chain solutions to Fortune 1000 companies, today announced that Joseph J. Lawless has been appointed executive vice president of world wide sales and marketing. Mr. Lawless will have global responsibility for software product, consulting and maintenance revenue sales.

Mr. Lawless brings impressive sales leadership skills to Demantra. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Lawless served as vice president of North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  and International sales for Verity Inc., the number one vendor in the portal infrastructure space. While at Verity, he helped architect the company's direct, channel and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  sales organization, which contributed significantly toward Verity's overall revenue objectives.

Before joining Verity, Mr. Lawless was director of sales at Dynasty Technologies, a Chicago-based firm that sold into the client/server application development market, and he also held sales positions at Intersolv, a provider of application development tools. Mr. Lawless got his start in software sales at Computer Associates International. He joined Computer Associates as one of the original salespeople at the company, and was an integral part of the sales team responsible for growing the company's revenue from $29 million to over $1 billion.
