Demand Response and Advanced Metering Coalition Announces New Officers.

 -- The Demand Response and Advanced Metering Coalition (DRAM) announced today that Officers of the Organization had been elected for the 2006-7 year.

The DRAM Coalition is the non-profit trade association for the demand response and advanced metering industry. It includes as members the leading companies providing technologies and services in the area of demand response and its enabling technologies.

Ward Camp, Cellnet Vice President, Western Region, was elected Chairman of the Coalition. Other Officers elected include Frank Magnotti, Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

 Camp, DRAM will be focused in the coming months on assisting both regulators and utilities as they continue to explore and assess the speed and degree to which they undertake demand response. "With the recent approval by the California Public Utilities Commission The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC; also often commonly referred to as simply the PUC) [1] is a state Public Utilities Commission which regulates privately-owned utilities in the state of California, including electric power,  of an advanced metering system for PG&E's 4.1 million electricity customers, and with demand response programs having played a significant role in meeting electricity needs during this summer's record-breaking heat wave, it is clear that demand response and advanced metering have demonstrated that they are rapidly becoming an integral part of the modern electricity system" added Camp. "We look forward to supporting regulators, utilities and system operators as they move forward in these areas and look forward to continued growth in our organization to expand our efforts to do that."
