ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 17, 1995--In its continuing mission to provide premium quality products and services that consistently meet or exceed its customers' needs, Deltec will introduce in booth 1433, several new products that make protecting computer systems and sensitive electronic devices easier and more affordable.

Deltec's expanded PowerRite Plus family for protecting stand-alone PCs A desktop or laptop computer that is not permanently connected to a local area network (LAN) or a wide area network (WAN). Throughout the 1990s, millions of stand-alone PCs were networked in offices, but it is no longer uncommon to find computers networked in the home so that family , Macs, network hubs See hub and hub vs. switch.  and workstations will make its show debut as well as the company's new LanSafe III power management software for Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. For SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol. Data are passed from SNMP agents, which are hardware and/or software processes reporting activity in each network device (hub, router, bridge, etc.  capabilities on the network, Deltec's new PowerLink V2.0 SNMP adapter for 10-Base-2 and 10-Base-T Ethernet networks will also be featured.

The expansion of the Plus family includes the addition of models in lower and higher power Higher power is a term used in a 12-step program, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, to describe "a power greater than yourself." Although many participants equate their higher power with God, a belief in God or in formal religion is not mandatory; the higher power is intended as a  levels to accommodate a wider range of stand-alone PCs, network hubs, Pentiums, Power PCs, and PC and Mac workstations. The models start at 220VA (ideally suited for 286s, Mac SEs and PC nodes) and go up to 650VA that protect more critical workstations and heavily configured PCs or Macs. The PowerRite Plus pricing starts at a low $119 and is backed by a 5-year Triple Power Protection Warranty.

To assist Windows NT users manage and monitor UPS power on their stand-alone PC or network, Deltec's new LanSafe III for Windows NT gives maximum power protection and system application flexibility.

Deltec's new power management software takes advantage of Windows NT system benefits such as multi-tasking, fault-tolerance and memory protection. Additionally, with Windows NT system services, the user has continuous power protection regardless of being logged on or off the system.

Both the new LanSafe III and FailSafe III for Windows NT work in concert with Deltec's complete line of UPSs to give network administrators as well as PC users full control of power status and activity. LanSafe III is designed for network applications, while FailSafe III provides similar management capabilities to the workstation and PC user.

Unique to LanSafe III are its sequential and orderly shutdown functions. During an unattended power failure, LanSafe III will shutdown all workstations, bridges, routers and file servers in a user-defined sequential order. Open named files and work in process, not previously saved, will automatically be saved to the hard drive and a safe and orderly shutdown will then occur.

Deltec's UPSs, when combined with the optional LanSafe III software, will provide Windows NT, Windows, Novell NetWare (operating system, networking) Novell NetWare - Novell, Inc.'s proprietary networking operating system for the IBM PC.

NetWare uses the IPX/SPX, NetBEUI or TCP/IP network protocols. It supports MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows, OS/2, Macintosh and Unix clients.

The SCO Group is the combination of two companies: Utah-based Caldera, Inc. , Interactive, and Unix Ware) and OS/2 users a complete power protection solution.

For stand-alone Windows, Windows NT and OS/2 systems, Deltec's FailSafe III software provides power monitoring and orderly shutdown features including automatic detection of power failures, orderly system shutdown and logging of power anomalies.
