Delphi files for chapter 11 bankruptcy.


Delphi Corp., Troy, Mich., and 38 of its domestic subsidiaries filed for chapter 11 reorganization in October. The company's decision was based on preserving the value of Delphi and completing its transformation plan designed to resolve the company's existing legacy issues and the high cost of U.S. operations.
