, Ireland. The announcement of the new centers enhances Dell's credibility in the enterprise services market. The Enterprise Command Center concept is based on best practices of crisis management centers to provide real time tracking of customer issues, technicians and service parts.

The opening of Dell's newest ECC in Xiamen will provide business customers better and timelier integration of service delivery than previously available. By monitoring weather and traffic patterns and other planned or unplanned events, teams of trained problem solvers can make parts and service delivery more efficient. In the U.S, the ECC has helped Dell achieve nearly 25 percent improvement in resolving initial customer issues since it opened last November(1).

"The opening of the new ECC in China enhances Dell's ability to deliver quality service to our enterprise customers in markets we serve," said Gary Cotshott, Vice President and General Manager of Dell's services business. "Our customers have benefited from Dell's ability to use tracking and mapping tools enabling us to work around obstacles that might otherwise cause service delays."

Customers ultimately benefit from the focus and accuracy Dell has maintained to troubleshoot To find out why something does not work and to fix the problem. "We knew Dell's direct model would deliver the most flexibility in deploying LightSurf's leading multimedia messaging solutions," said Dr. Shekhar Kirani, vice president of engineering LightSurf Technologies. "But their continued commitment to invest in and deliver high quality enterprise services to meet our critical business needs has made the decision to go with Dell an easy one."

The Enterprise Command Center strategy is also receiving high marks from industry analysts. "Service and support are critical factors in the supplier-selection process for computing computing - computer  hardware and software to run the business," said John McArthur John McArthur (November 17, 1826 – May 15, 1906) was a Union general during the American Civil War.

McArthur was born in Erskine, Scotland. He learned to be a blacksmith and emigrated to the United States at age 23 and settled in Chicago.
, Group Vice President and General Manager of Information Infrastructure, at IDC. "The command center model which Dell has developed is a key element in delivering critical IT infrastructure services to businesses whose own success is dependent on having their IT infrastructure up and running at critical times."

Later this year, Dell plans to open an Enterprise Command Center in Japan. Early next year, another command center is expected to come online in the Asia-Pacific region. As these command centers open, global customers with operations inside the U.S. can have a view to their operations around the world.
