Energy Smart configurations on OptiPlex desktops have been available since September 2006 and when combined with an Energy Star compliant configuration, a system can exceed EPA energy requirements.

The OptiPlex Energy Smart 745 and 740 feature 80 percent efficient power supplies that enable more efficient energy consumption management. Configured with flat panel monitors, these systems can help customers save up to 77 percent in power consumption compared to previous generation systems when combined with Energy Smart power settings1.
