Dell (Nasdaq:DELL) today closed the performance gap between desktop and notebook computers, announcing worldwide availability of its three portable computer lines with processors running at up to 2.0 GHz.

Dell is now offering Intel's Mobile Pentium See Pentium M. (R) 4-M processor at 1.90 and 2.0 GHz in its Inspiron(tm) 8200 and Latitude(tm) C840 notebook computers and Dell Precision Dell Precision is a line of workstation computers produced by Dell, Inc.. Current Dell Precision Desktop Models

(tm) M50 mobile workstations. The new systems are designed for customers who require the most performance in a mobile computer, whether it's for editing, viewing and storing home digital movies or for compiling geographic data Geographic data is about much more than electronic pictures of maps.

-- A selection of fast optical drives, including 8X and 24X CD-RW drives and
CD-RW/DVD combination drives (the fastest available for notebooks). The drives
enable quick transfer or backup of large files, like digital photos and videos,
MP3s and populated spreadsheets and databases.

-- An array of ports including IEEE 1394, frequently used for fast transfer of
large files like digital video, S-Video out with S-PDIF audio out to allow for
