Dell Announces Shipments of Windows Me Operating System; Dell Users Gain Fast Boot Advantage From New OS.

Dell (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, announced today that it is shipping Dimension desktop and Inspiron notebook systems running Windows Millennium Edition See Windows ME.

The successor to Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Me is designed to be a timely update of technologies. Designed specifically with the home user in mind, Windows Me delivers advances in four key areas: PC health, digital media, home networking and the online experience. Specifically, Windows Me provides improved stability and advanced help functions, and allows home users to create their own home network easily through their PC to share printers, Internet connections and other devices.

Windows Me is currently available on all new Dell Dimension Dell Dimension is a line of home desktop computers manufactured by Dell, Inc. As of June 2007, Dell no longer makes the Dimension line other than for business and in non American markets. The high-end Dimension 9200 (XPS 410 in the Amercian market) is still manufactured.  and Inspiron systems. Systems with Fast Boot capability include new Inspiron systems, the Dell Dimension 4100 and all forthcoming Dimension and Inspiron systems.
