Dell, Irving ISD Bring Notebook Computers to Every Student; District Wins Award for Innovation in Technology.ROUND ROCK, Texas -- The Irving Independent School District Irving Independent School District is a school district based in Irving, Texas (USA). The district, which covers 48.5 square miles, serves most of the city of Irving, except for Valley Ranch and a portion of Las Colinas. The district also serves a small portion of Grand Prairie. Irving ISD was recently awarded the first annual Sylvia Charp Award for District Innovation in Technology. The Charp Award, presented by T.H.E. Journal and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE ISTE International Society for Technology in Education ISTE Indian Society for Technical Education ISTE International Society for Tropical Ecology ISTE Integrated Services Terminal Equipment ), recognizes school districts with effective and innovative applications of technology.
