Delivery dangers.


The Buffalo News of April 22 reported that a pair of teenagers attempted to rob a 54-year-old pizza deliveryman in Niagara Falls Niagara Falls, waterfall, United States and Canada
Niagara Falls, in the Niagara River, W N.Y. and S Ont., Canada; one of the most famous spectacles in North America. The falls are on the international line between the cities of Niagara Falls, N.Y.
, leading to the death of one of the teens.

Apparently, Anthony Sheard, 16, and a second suspect, identified as Aldeaz Lewis, 16, tackled the unidentified Ventry's Pizza delivery “Pizza box” redirects here. For the computer form factor, see Pizza box form factor.

Pizza delivery is the service of delivering a pizza to a customer. Pizza delivery presents hazards such as robbery and murder.
 driver in an alley at 9:15 p.m. on April 20 in an attempt to rob him. Upon being attacked, the delivery driver noticed that Sheard was carrying a gun, and so he drew his own concealed pistol and shot Sheard in the head.

A police spokesman stated that the police believe the deliveryman's story because they found a gun thought to be Sheard's at the scene, which turned out to be a pellet gun a gun that fires small pellets, less than 3 mm diameter, usually made of metal.

The second suspect, Lewis, was arrested the day after the shooting and was charged with second-degree robbery. He had purchased the weapon because he had been robbed three years earlier.

 said that several pizza delivery drivers had been robbed recently.

On an almost ludicrous note, the investigation of the shooting has been turned over to the Niagara County District Attorney Matthew J. Murphy III, and he is actually contemplating sending the case against the deliveryman to a grand jury to see if the case should go to trial.
