"The sub-$100 ink jet printer market has always been a priority of Canon's as the company continues its dominance in the SOHO market," said Ned Bunnell, director of product marketing for CCSI. "With Canon's Bubble Jet printing technology and design expertise, we are able to combine form, functionality and superior technology for a great price."

"SOHO customers have enjoyed the value and performance of its predecessors the BJC-1000 and the BJC-2000 printers. By making the BJC-2100 printer cross-platform, both Mac and Windows users can take advantage of the quality and price."

Small in Size, Big on Performance

The BJC-2100 printer replaces Canon's BJC-2000 printer, and offers the fastest black text print speed in this price category at approximately five ppm (pages-per-minute) in monochrome(b).

The BJC-2100 printer offers 720x360 dpi resolution in both four-color and monochrome output and is compatible with Canon's proprietary optional Photo Ink cartridges for photo-realistic printing on plain or special photo paper.

In addition to its speed and high-quality printing performance, the new Bubble Jet printer offers sleek compact styling, and features Canon's drop-in cartridge loading system -- taking an easy-to-use product one step further.

The BJC-2100 also offers two Canon exclusive features: Drop Modulation Technology for enhanced photo-quality output and sharper text printing; and compatibility with Canon's unique Color Image Scanner Cartridge (the IS-22 at an estimated street price of $19(a) after $30 mail-in rebate), which turns the printer into a 360 dpi color sheetfed scanner by easily swapping the scanner cartridge in the place of the printer's ink cartridge.

Canon Computer Systems Inc. will also be offering a derivative of the BJC-2100 printer. The BJC-2120 printer will offer the same features of the BJC-2100 printer but will be encased en·case
