Delight: the Yorkshire Sculpture Park celebrates thirty years with new work by Andy Goldsworthy.

), he wondered whether he could suspend a stalk screen between two branches 450mm apart. He has now returned to create the largest and most ambitious exhibition ever hosted there. In the Underground Gallery, Goldsworthy has transformed materials from the local landscape. Layered stone domes crowd into one room, appearing like tumuli tu·mu·li

, a mysterious black hole in the centre of each. The hole is a recurring theme in Goldsworthy's art; he sees it as a window on to the 'fragile, unpredictable and violent energy' present in nature. In Clay Room, the walls are completely covered in clay of a pale grey hue that reflects the coal-mining history of the area. As the surface dried and cracked, fissures revealed hair woven into the clay.

A further room is bisected by a 12m wide screen of chestnut stalks, held together with blackthorns hanging as delicately as a giant cobweb (1) A Web page that has not been updated in a long time.

. Again, there is a hole at the centre. Wood Room is a dark, self-supporting dome of coppiced chestnut logs, which can be perceived as threatening or cocooning co·coon·ing

Outside, three specially commissioned works address the theme of enclosure. The relationship between wood (symbolic of life) and stone (permanent) is explored in Hanging Trees: three interventions in an existing ha-ha, where felled oak trees are trapped within their enclosing walls. Shadow Stone Fold is a sheep fold enclosing a sandstone slab, on which you can make your own rain, snow or frost shadow. Outclosure is an impenetrable dry stone circular wall; you can't see over it and you have no idea what's going on What's Going On is a record by American soul singer Marvin Gaye. Released on May 21, 1971 (see 1971 in music), What's Going On reflected the beginning of a new trend in soul music.  inside. Goldsworthy is fascinated by the social history of landscape and the act of making places inaccessible. This exhibition is an inspirational celebration for the YSP's 30th anniversary year.
