Delaware offers recycling assistance grants.The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) of the state of Delaware is the primary body concerned with the governance of public land, natural resources, and environmental regulations for the state. (DNREC DNREC Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control ), in cooperation with the Governor's Recycling Public Advisory Council (RPAC RPAC Recreational and Physical Activity Center (Ohio State University) RPAC Registered Physician Assistant - Certified RPAC Red PAS Auxiliary Controller ), is accepting applications for the fiscal year 2005 Recycling Assistance Grant Program. Municipalities, schools, colleges, universities, civic and community associations and non-profit organizations A non-profit organization (abbreviated "NPO", also "non-profit" or "not-for-profit") is a legally constituted organization whose primary objective is to support or to actively engage in activities of public or private interest without any commercial or monetary profit purposes. in Delaware can apply for the $50,000 available in grants. Recipients are required to provide 25 percent of total project funding Project Funding reflects the overall financial analysis and entails the analysis that is needed in order to get the financial means approved and funds made available to be able to perform the discipline of project management. either in cash or in an equivalent valuation of in-kind services. Cooperative partnerships are encouraged. Activities eligible for funding include: design, implementation or expansion of residential recycling and yard waste composting programs; curbside curb·side n. 1. The side of a pavement or street that is bordered by a curb. 2. A sidewalk. adj. Located, operating, or occurring at or along the sidewalk or curb: collection of recyclables; design and implementation of "pay-as-you-throw" programs; recycling outreach programs; and other activities that reduce residential solid waste generation and disposal or that help to achieve Delaware's goal to divert 30 percent of recyclables from the residential solid waste stream. Greater weight will be assigned to those projects that are most responsive in addressing grant program criteria and that are judged to have the greatest potential to increase diversion of residential solid waste from landfills. DNREC staff will provide technical and administrative assistance to interested parties.
