Presently, the Delaware Solid Waste Authority operates a network of more than 140 drop-off centers. RPAC, however, is looking at developing a mandatory residential curbside collection program in New Castle County, the most populous county in the state. The residential diversion rate is currently only 6 percent. However, the state is seeking to boost that recovery rate to around 30 percent. RPAC hopes to have a blueprint on boosting recovery levels by April 2004. |
