Delaware Court Enjoins Micron Case Against Rambus; Also Denies Motion to Transfer Delaware Action to California.

There is diversified light manufacturing. , Calif. -- At a hearing today, the Federal District Court for the District of Delaware issued two rulings regarding where certain patent and other related disputes between Rambus (Nasdaq:RMBS RMBS Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities

) and Micron are to be decided.

In its first ruling, the court granted a motion by Rambus and issued an injunction against Micron's further prosecution of a newly-filed Virginia lawsuit against Rambus. The Delaware court ruled that Micron's allegations could not be pursued in Virginia given the overlap of those allegations with a prior Delaware action filed in August 2000 by Micron.

In its second ruling today, the Delaware court denied a motion by Rambus seeking to transfer the pending Delaware case to California. Neither ruling affects other pending patent or antitrust cases Although many in the computer field might equate "antitrust" with the long-running Microsoft trial (1998-2004), the U.S. government sued IBM three times in its history for antitrust violations.  in California by Rambus against Micron.
