MURDO MacLEOD Murdo Davidson MacLeod (born August 24, 1958 in Glasgow) is a former Scottish professional footballer who played as a midfielder.

MacLeod made his name with Dumbarton in the late 1970s before moving to Celtic in 1979.
 insists Hibs hitman Derek Riordan would not flinch at scoring against Celtic and damaging their title hopes.

Former Hoops striker Riordan netted in a 1-1 draw with Rangers on Wednesday night to hand Gordon Strachan's men a surprise lifeline in the title race.

MacLeod said: "Riordan won't hold back on Sunday. He will look back on his time at Celtic and not be happy with the amount of games heplayed.

"Derek is certainly capable of scoring and I'm sure that is in the thoughts of a lot of Celtic supporters.

"He has a point to prove, he knows how tight it is at the top but he has more affection for Hibs than anyone else.

"I don't know why it turned sour at Celtic, whether he worked hard enough, I don't know."

But MacLeod reckons it is still not too late for the man Strachan once dubbed the most lethal finisher at Celtic to make it at the very top.

He said: "Someone might take a gamble on him but I think they would go more for his goals than his all-round play.

"He could still get a move because of that."
