This restaurant is the first of 16 restaurants planned for the Phoenix area. "Phoenix is a tremendous market and Del Taco has already received a great reception," said C. Ronald Petty, president of Del Taco and a Scottsdale resident. Petty was named president of the 35-year-old quick service chain six months ago to lead the company's national growth plans. Formerly the head of Burger King and Denny's, Petty recently revitalized the Scottsdale-based Peter Piper's Pizza. Petty's experience in the Phoenix market made this a natural expansion choice. Del Taco currently has restaurants in Casa Grande Casa Grande (kä`sä grän`dā), city (1990 pop. 19,082), Pinal co., S Ariz.; inc. 1915.
