Del Taco Celebrates Firefighters and 500th Restaurant; Milestone is Reached With New Burbank, CA Restaurant.


LAKE FOREST, Calif. -- More than 45 years later and a long way from its humble roots in a desert town, Del Taco Del Taco is a chain of North American fast-food restaurants specializing in Mexican-style offerings as well as American foods such as burgers, fries and shakes.

The first Del Taco restaurant was founded in Yermo, California in 1961 by Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson.
 today announces the opening of its 500th restaurant. The new company-owned 24-hour restaurant is located at 2515 N. Hollywood Way in Burbank.

 work to keep communities safe, particularly during the recent wildfires. Del Taco is offering all Southern California firefighters a free meal on Thursday, Jan. 10 from 7 a.m. - midnight at the Burbank restaurant. Hundreds of firefighters are expected throughout the day.

On Thursday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m., Del Taco's president/COO Shirlene Lopez will present more than $110,000 to local Red Cross chapters to help victims of the recent wildfires. Del Taco committed to donating a portion of sales of its Spicy Chicken Burrito from mid-Nov through December to the relief efforts. Consumers supported this effort by devouring de·vour

Del Taco makes its beans from scratch, prepares its salsa by hand, grates the cheddar cheese in the restaurant and grills chicken every hour.
