Real Estate Investment Firm Marks Anniversary with Expansion Announcement

 Equity Partners, Inc., a group of seasoned principal real estate investors based here, is celebrating its one-year anniversary this month having met and exceeded its goal of acquiring $50 million in real estate assets. Established in late summer 2005, DMEP's portfolio includes seven properties in three states, with an aggregate value of $51 million.

Each of the properties met DMEP's stringent acquisition criteria, including: value-added projects that required significant rehabilitation and repositioning; development opportunities that serve the unmet needs of its local market; and stabilized properties that are well-positioned in a growing market.

Given its first year success, Del Mar Equity Partners has announced plans to expand its headquarters space and to grow its team by January 2007. The move will allow the firm to maintain its presence in Los Angeles' South Bay region, while also accommodating a larger staff. Del Mar Equity Partners has recently hired two new employees, Shai Shwartz, director of asset management, and Berto Gonzalez, senior vice president.

Del Mar Equity Partners expects that the next several years will be even more fruitful for the firm, given pent up demand from the investor base. "Buyers are in an acquisition mode," notes Mark Kanter, principal and managing director of DMEP. "We are constantly reviewing our assets to evaluate their promise as the marketplace continues to evolve. Specifically, we are looking at our current portfolio to determine how long each asset should be held to maximize its value."
