Degussa opens fumed silica plant in Thailand.


Degussa AG, Dusseldorf, Germany, officially opened a new Aerosil[R] production plant in Map Ta Phut Phut (fŭt), in the Bible, son of Ham and eponym of an African people. It may also be a region, possibly Punt or Libya, and is perhaps the same as Pul (2.) It also appears as Put. , Thailand, in late 2004. The plant is operated by Thai Aerosil Company Ltd., a wholly-owned Degussa subsidiary, and the Aerosil and Silanes Business Unit. Built to assist Degussa's continuing expansion into the Asian market, the plant will produce several thousand pounds of Aerosil fumed fume

2. A strong or acrid odor.

3. A state of resentment or vexation.

 silica silica or silicon dioxide, chemical compound, SiO2. It is insoluble in water, slightly soluble in alkalies, and soluble in dilute hydrofluoric acid. Pure silica is colorless to white.  annually.
