DEFIBRILLATORS FOR HOTELS. Zoll Medical Corp., a manufacturer of non-invasive cardiac resuscitation devices, on Dec. 22 announced it signed a strategic agreement, through its distributor Cia Farmin, S.A., with the Costa Rica Chamber of Hotels to market and sell Zoll's products to its membership of 248 hotels. The first member to take advantage of this arrangement is the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, which purchased a Zoll M Series with AED capability for the resort's medical clinic being built at the Papagayo Peninsula in Guanacaste, on the northwest coast of Costa Rica. Cia Farmin also is marketing and selling Zoll's automated external defibrillator (AED) known as the Zoll AED Plus with instantaneous CPR Feedback. This product is also appropriate for hotels because it is easy to use, and it can be carried quickly to collapsed victims that require immediate life-saving efforts in isolated areas, said Augustin Monge, President of the Costa Rica Chamber of Hotels.
