DefenseWeb Helps U.S. Army Reserves Connect Reservists to Their Families; USAR Awards DefenseWeb Contract to Develop Web-based Service Delivery and Tracking System.

) has awarded DefenseWeb a follow-on contract to expand its development of an online Web portal See portal.  for delivering and tracking services to reservists and their families.

Under a previous contract, DefenseWeb developed an enterprise portal See corporate portal.  to serve the needs of the U.S. Army Reserve Command Family Program. The new contract calls for an expansion of this development effort to include automating additional services and functionality around five core components: Volunteer management, information and retrieval, training and support, outreach, and policy implementation and resourcing.

DefenseWeb will develop a new enterprise web system portal around these five areas, test and deploy the system to the 10 USAR Regional Readiness Commands, and train management and users of the system.

DefenseWeb's new enterprise application for the Army Reserves will also include the development of three new components within the existing portal infrastructure: enhancements for managing soldier data and tracking client contacts; new features to serve the Family Program's budget responsibilities; and a custom application for managing documents created and distributed by the Army Reserve's Family Program.
