Final Rules -- DFARS Transformation

The following changes are a result of DFARS Transformation, which is a major DoD initiative to dramatically change the purpose and content of the DFARS. Insurance (DFARS Case 2003-D037)

Relocates procedural text on risk-pooling insurance arrangements and requests for waiver The voluntary surrender of a known right; conduct supporting an inference that a particular right has been relinquished.

Acquisition of Commercial Items (DFARS Case 2003-D074)

Proposed Rule

Geographic Use of the Term "United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. " (DFARS Case 2001-D003)

Proposes to update references to the "United States" and other geographic terms throughout the DFARS. The proposed changes clarify the meaning of these terms and provide consistency with definitions found in FAR 2.101.
