) annual Paul Ramsey Paul Christopher Ramsey (born 3 September 1962 in Derry, Northern Ireland) is a former Northern Irish footballer who played in a defensive midfield role. Ramsey, who measured 5' 10" in height, began his playing career at Derry City FC.  Award for Excellence in Bioethics. To be clear, the purpose of the award is to recognize those who have demonstrated exemplary achievements in the field of bioethics--not to find prolife philosophers who think exactly as Ramsey did. Kaveny acknowledges Ramsey as "firmly prolife" and "a pioneer in the field of bioethics." Each year, the CBCN is delighted to recognize the legacy of Ramsey's pioneering prolife work, of which we are beneficiaries.
