Deere & Company, Triangle Park, N.C., signed a technology sharing agreement with Andreas Stihl Andreas Stihl (b. 1896, in Zürich, Switzerland; d. 1973) was an engineer and important inventor in the area of chainsaws, the founder of the company Stihl.

Stihl founded a company for steam boiler prefiring systems in 1926 in the town of Cannstatt, near Stuttgart, Germany.
 AG & Co., licensing Stihl Andreas Stihl AG & Company is a manufacturer of chain saws and other handheld power equipment for the outdoors that is headquartered in Waiblingen, Baden-Württemberg. The company was founded in 1926 by Andreas Stihl, an important innovator in early chain saw production.  to design, develop and manufacture engines using a reduced-emission, 2-stroke engine fuel handling technology developed by John Deere. Stihl's use of this technology will help to satisfy emissions standards such as CARB Tier II, EPA EPA eicosapentaenoic acid.
