Dee's 'wrong way' sail joy.


SAILOR Dee Caffari Denise "Dee" Caffari MBE is a British sailor, and is the first woman to have sailed single-handedly non-stop around the world "the wrong way"; west against the prevailing winds and currents. , 33, last night became the first woman to sail solo around the world against the wind and tide.

After six months at sea she said: "I'm not normally a bath person but it's something I'm really looking forward to."

Dee, who sailed more than 29,000 miles, crossed the finish line off Cornwall in her 72ft boat Aviva.

She is due to arrive in Southampton on Sunday.

Her record came 35 years after Chay Blyth Sir Charles Blyth, CBE, BEM (born 14 May 1940), known as Chay Blyth, is a Scottish yachtsman and rower. Early life
Blyth was born in Hawick, Roxburghshire.
 became the first person to complete the "wrong way" voyage.
