Deduction of duty on import of fabric to Turkey demanded : Dr. Baig.


ISLAMABAD, October 28, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Federal Advisor on Textile, Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig took up issue of higher reference price on import of Pakistani fabric by Turkish customs at Pak-Turk CEOs forum. Dr. Baig explained that the customs authorities in Turkey are not accepting declared invoice value of our exporters for customs duty customs duty: see tariff.  purpose, instead they are charging duties on higher value than the declared in the invoice, making Pakistani fabric more expensive. On the request of Dr. Baig, Federation of Pakistan The Federation of Pakistan is the name of Pakistan as it appears on Government documents and almost all official papers. In comparison, the name Islamic Republic of Pakistan is rarely used on any documents apart from passports and visas.  Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI FPCCI Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry ), President also drew the attention of the representatives of CEOs Forum on this disparity. He said charging custom duty on our declared commercial value will reduce the import cost of our fabric in Turkey, making it more attractive and competitive for the Turkish buyers.
