December 20,1988: The Boy is back.


Celebrated today as a DJ par excellence, Boy George George Alan O'Dowd, better known as Boy George (born June 14, 1961 in Eltham, London) is a rock singer-songwriter. George grew up in a large, working-class Irish family, which originated in Thurles, in Co. Tipperary, Ireland.  was just beginning to reinvent himself post-Culture Club--as well as recover from a heroin addiction--when The Advocate's Kris Kirk Kris Kirk, full name Christopher Pious Mary Kirk, (born 1950, in Carlisle, England; died April 27, 1993) was a gay activist, journalist and author who became well known as a pop music journalist in the 1980s.  caught up with him in 1988. The gender-bending pop star was promoting a new album, Tense, Nervous Headache; was singing the praises of acid-house music; and, having kicked the drug habit, was completely open about his sexuality. "I've gotten to the stage where honesty is the best policy," George said. "It's so much easier just sticking the fucking tape recorder tape recorder, device for recording information on strips of plastic tape (usually polyester) that are coated with fine particles of a magnetic substance, usually an oxide of iron, cobalt, or chromium. With its pleasant climate and legendary past, Tombstone is a well-known tourist attraction. The city became a national historic landmark in 1962.  is `And Another Thing....' Either that or `I Used to Be Famous, but I'm All Right Now.'"
