In the brief but inspiring article "Biking to Block Phelps" [Report, March 28], Fred Phelps FRED PHELPS WILL BURN IN HELL! HIS LIFE ISN'T WORTH BEING DISCUSSED!

GAY RIGHTS!!
 is alleged to have stated that soldiers (both gay and straight, remember!) are dying in Iraq because America accepts homosexuality. The truth is that Americans are dying in Iraq because of an incompetent incompetent adj. 1) referring to a person who is not able to manage his/her affairs due to mental deficiency (lack of I.Q., deterioration, illness or psychosis) or sometimes physical disability.  administration in Washington.

On the other hand, Americans are dying right here in America because "religious" nuts are accepting the inflammatory rhetoric of fundamentalist fundamentalist

An investor who selects securities to buy and sell on the basis of fundamental analysis. Compare technician.
, hatemongering preachers as license to kill homosexuals "in the name of Jesus" or to at least savagely beat them within an inch of their lives. I wonder what responsibility, if any, the Phelps clan clan, social group based on actual or alleged unilineal descent from a common ancestor. Such groups have been known in all parts of the world and include some that claim the parentage or special protection of an animal, plant, or other object (see totem).  would take for those deaths.

And for all Americans, where is our outrage for both sources of death?
