Dear Miriam,

My 18-year-old son has no notion about what to do with his life since he left school. He spent the summer lounging around the house and hanging out with his mates. He expects me to give him money when he wants it. I've suggested he goes to college to learn a skill but he says there's no point if he doesn't know what to sign up for. What should I do?
