Dear Miriam I'VE been married for five months and I've done something really stupid.

I texted my ex to see if he wanted to meet for a drink. It turned into a very boozy evening and we ended up having sex. Now I'm pregnant.

I was angry with my husband as he'd been working late for weeks and I felt neglected.

When I got home, my husband was waiting with a beautiful watch he'd bought with the extra money he'd earned and I feel so guilty.

IF this child isn't his, sooner or later the truth will come out. This is one of those really bad secrets that will eat away at you.

It's better to tell him early on that you have messed up than try to fool him with lies. Your ex should be told too, if you're uncertain about paternity.

Also have a check up for sexually-transmitted diseases because that unprotected sex may have given you something more than a pregnancy.

You obviously have a lot of growing up to do - and it looks as though you'll need to do it fast.
