Dear Jo: Reader's Letters.

Show respect, Charles

IN A week when The Mirror has highlighted the need for a memorial to Princess Diana Noun 1. Princess Diana - English aristocrat who was the first wife of Prince Charles; her death in an automobile accident in Paris produced intense national mourning (1961-1997)

Taking a tacky holiday in the Aegean (The Mirror, Aug 5) with his mistress, Camilla Parker Bowles, and his boys, William and Harry. Diana would turn in her grave.

IT SADDENS me to read that Prince William supposedly encouraged his father to invite Camilla Parker Bowles on holiday with them.

What are these boys thinking of? Have they been totally brainwashed brain·wash

Diana would surely be aghast at the company they are keeping.

S Parks, Wolverhampton

I NEARLY choked on my toast when I read about the royals going on holiday with Camilla Parker Bowles. How insensitive can this family get, especially as it's only weeks away from the second anniversary of Diana's death?

Those poor boys really do put up with a lot, and I agree with the Queen that CPB CPB

SHAME on you, William, to go on holiday with the woman who caused your mother so much pain. You seem to be condoning your father's affair. HOW William and Harry can spend their holidays with Camilla Parker Bowles is beyond me. She hurt their mother so much, and I don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

I HAD to smile when I read that the Queen had told Charles to be totally discreet while he was on holiday with his mistress.

As if the whole world doesn't already know. What a fiasco. I wonder if Charles has the guts to marry her and end all the speculation.

Don't give chicken so much stick

READER Marjorie Jones described barbecued chicken drumsticks as "salmonella-on-a-stick" (Dear Jo, Aug 6) saying they never get properly cooked.

But there's no need for this. If you parboil par·boil

SO the Queen adores her dogs so much she puts plaques up for them in the garden when they die (Mirror, August 6).

Surely this is no surprise, as we are a nation of animal lovers.

I know someone whose dog sleeps at the bottom of her bed while, after a minor disagreement, her husband is banished to the spare room.

SHADES OF MY YOUTH..

I'M really looking forward to the eclipse - the second in my lifetime.

At 13, I travelled to Ulverston, in Cumbria, to watch the 1927 event. This year, I'm settling for my garden.

I REMEMBER an eclipse of the sun while I was stationed in the RAF at Pembroke Dock in 1954 , but it is never referred to. Am I wrong?

NO. There was a large partial eclipse of the sun on June 30, 1954, and many readers remember it - Jo
