WESTERLY, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 2001

Heartlab, Inc. announces that Dean P. Terry has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Heartlab specializes in the development of cardiac imaging software and the integration of cardiac imaging network systems. Terry will manage Heartlab's growing global sales and marketing division.

Prior to joining Heartlab, Terry was general manager of Acuson Corporation's Digital Lab Solutions Division, a company that develops turnkey computer systems solutions for the medical industry. Under Terry's direction, the operation sold and successfully deployed more than 200 systems worldwide in cardiology and radiology applications. Siemens Medical acquired the company in 2000.

Prior to joining Acuson, Terry was area manager in the western U.S. for A.L.I. Technologies, Inc., a Vancouver, BC-based company. While there, he directed development of all business channels Business channels are TV channels that concentrate on business news. List of channels

Terry was also a co-founder of two start-ups in the areas of computer graphics and medicine. Signal Stream Technologies, based in Novato, CA, created the first OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  PC-compatible board and box-level solutions to manage diagnostic imaging communications on medical networks. The company merged with its largest competitor in 1994. In the 1980s, Terry worked for nine years at the Hewlett-Packard Company. He started as a computer sales engineer for both technical and commercial applications and was promoted to district and country manager positions, expanding the company's sales into new global markets.
