Dean Hallett Named Executive Vice President, Operations Strategy and Chief Financial Officer for Fox Filmed Entertainment.

LOS ANGELES -- Dean Hallett has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Operations Strategy and Chief Financial Officer for Fox Filmed Entertainment (FFE), it was announced today by Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman, Co-Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers of FFE.

In his new role, Hallett will expand his responsibilities to provide strategic direction and operational guidance to all FFE divisions including theatrical production, worldwide theatrical marketing and distribution, worldwide home entertainment, television distribution, digital exhibition and digital media distribution. He will continue to oversee strategic planning and business development, studio and post-production operations, information technology and finance.

"Dean has played a vital role in helping the studio achieve outstanding growth and profitability over the past several years," Rothman said. "His impressive experience in strategy and operations management will be critical in helping us tackle the myriad challenges and opportunities presented by today's - and tomorrow's - business environments."

His expertise in aligning and optimizing resources while providing strategic guidance to each of our divisions will be essential as we look to integrate digital product offerings into our day-to-day operations."

Previously, Hallett served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FFE where he has been a key member of the executive team and has been instrumental in shaping the overall strategy of the studio. Recently, Hallett has been heavily involved in driving several studio initiatives including a potential premium in-home movie service, the company-wide content management strategy, and the digital cinema strategy and rollout.

Prior to joining Fox, Hallett was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for The Walt Disney Studios (TWDS), a position he had held since January 2000. Prior to his CFO role, he was Senior Vice President, Planning and Control for TWDS, where he drove international theatrical and home entertainment integration initiatives, served as executive sponsor for shared services of The Walt Disney Company and helped spearhead strategic sourcing and ERP initiatives for the corporation.

Hallett joined The Walt Disney Company in 1990 as a Manager in the Corporate Management Audit department. He was named Director of Finance at Buena Vista Pictures Marketing in 1991 and promoted to Vice President in 1994.

Hallett came to Disney from Anthony Industries, Inc. (now K2, Inc.), where he was Group Controller, after spending more than seven years with Ernst & Whinney, including a one-year stint in the UK.

Assuming a number of duties Hallett performed in his previous role will be Jane Waxman, senior vice president of planning and control, who will now take on greater oversight of the studio's financial planning and budgeting efforts.

One of the world's largest producers and distributors of motion pictures, Fox Filmed Entertainment produces, acquires and distributes motion pictures throughout the world. These motion pictures are produced or acquired by the following units of FFE: Twentieth Century Fox, Fox 2000, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox Animation, and Fox Atomic.
