Dean Cain To Host New TBS Superstation Original Series RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!


ATLANTA--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Dec. 9, 1999--

Actor Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Adventures of Superman may refer to the following works featuring Superman:
  • The Adventures of Superman (radio), 1940s radio program.
  • The Adventures of Superman (novel), 1942 novel written by George Lowther.
) has been signed to host TBS Superstation's newest original series, RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!(R) The series will air Wednesdays at 8:05 p.m. (ET/PT), beginning Jan. 12. The show is produced by Columbia TriStar Television Columbia TriStar Television, Inc. was the third name of the television studio Screen Gems, adopted with the Columbia-TriStar merger of 1991 and last used in 2002.

Columbia TriStar Television was launched in 1994 as a joint venture between Columbia Pictures Television and
 Distribution, with Erik Nelson serving as executive producer.

RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT! is being produced in association with Cain's production company, Angry Dragon Entertainment and Nelson's Termite termite or white ant, common name for a soft-bodied social insect of the order Isoptera. Termites are easily distinguished from ants by comparison of the base of the abdomen, which is broadly joined to the thorax in termites; in ants, there is  Art Productions. Also serving as producer is Cain's production partner Mike Carr.

Cain recently completed the film The Broken Hearts Broken Hearts is a blank verse play by W. S. Gilbert in three acts styled "An entirely original fairy play". Cain starred for four seasons as Clark Kent/Superman in the TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Prior to that, he had spent a season playing Rick on the popular series Beverly Hills 90210. In addition to series, Cain has also starred on television in such movies as Things That Go Bump in the Night, Dogboys, Rag and Bone and Futuresport.
