Deadly GBL set for ban; LEGISLATION.


A LEGAL dance drug which killed a student will be banned by the end of the year, Home Secretary Alan Johnson said yesterday.

GBL - gamma-butyrolactone - will be classified as a Class C drug. Mr Johnson said: "Legal highs are an emerging threat, particularly for the young." Hester's mother Maryon, from Brighton, said: "She would never have taken this drug if she'd known it could have killed her."
