DeNova Homes, Inc.
WHO: Pleasant Hill-based DeNova Homes, Inc. will reveal the
ultimate holiday gift of a completely new home and
contribution of over $100,000 to the Sears family of
Martinez, California. This generous gift is being granted
in conjunction with ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home
Edition."
WHAT: A project of epic proportion, DeNova Homes razed the
Sears' Martinez home on Friday, December 10 and within
five short days completed a fully furnished home, which
they will reveal to Karen, Jhyrve (pronounce "Ger-Vay")
and Lucas Sears. As is the objective behind DeNova Homes'
commitment to community, the family-owned company will
change the life of a family in need as the Sears have had
a very challenging year facing the diagnosis of Jhyrve's
rare genetic disorder, Krabbe Disease.
WHERE: 2292 Yale Street, Martinez, California
WHEN: Highlights for Wednesday, December 15
Noon:
Sears' family arrive for the reveal of their new home as
DeNova Homes principals Dave and Lori Sanson, along with
the cast of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and HomeAid,
present the family with a welcome home card from the 1,000
volunteers who worked on the house as well as a check for
over $100,000, which was raised from community
contributions and has been earmarked for Jhyrve's
educational and medical expenses.
(Note: A media check-in tent is located at the corner of Yale and
Missouri streets, at 2403 Yale Street in Martinez. From
California-4 West, take the Pine Street/Center Avenue exit, merge
onto Pine Street, turn right on Holly View Drive, turn left on
Missouri Street.)
