DeLorme Announces Two New Breakthrough GPS Devices.

LAS VEGAS -- Company Unveils $99 Laptop GPS Model and New Handheld Model with Built-in Color Screen for use with DeLorme Topographic and Street Mapping Software

DeLorme, the leading digital mapping and GPS innovator, today announced two major 2005 GPS product launches, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Earthmate(R) LT-20

DeLorme pioneered the laptop GPS concept and continues its leadership position with the Earthmate LT-20. This new high-sensitivity device turns any laptop PC into a powerful GPS navigator. The new $99.95 everyday low price, coupled with the rapid growth in sales of inexpensive yet powerful laptop PCs, will undoubtedly expand this GPS market segment.

The included Street Atlas USA 2005 software has been designed for in-vehicle GPS navigation, with innovative features including voice prompts, automatic back-on-track re-routing; screen settings for reducing in-vehicle glare; and large fonts and arrows to show upcoming turns.

The Earthmate GPS LT-20 uses ST Microelectronics and SiGE Semiconductor chips, integrated with DeLorme software and firmware, for fast satellite acquisition times, noise reduction, and premium performance. The Earthmate LT-20 will ship in April 2005. It will be available both at retail and direct from DeLorme.

Earthmate(R) GPS PN-20

At last, people who want to use DeLorme mapping software on a handheld GPS can finally do so. Earthmate GPS PN-20, also powered by ST Microelectronics and SiGE chip technologies, is DeLorme's first GPS with a built-in screen.

A central problem facing handheld GPS users is the difficulty and expense of displaying high-quality maps on their devices. DeLorme, a leading provider of mapping software to consumer and professional markets, has designed a dedicated GPS specifically to optimize the display of DeLorme mapping content.

The Earthmate GPS PN-20 supports routing and tracking on the device. Users can also download maps and routes from these DeLorme desktop software products: Topo USA(R) 5.0, Street Atlas USA(R) 2005, XMap(R) 4.5, XMap GIS Editor, and a new worldwide software program planned for release later in the year. Topo USA and XMap product users will also be able to access DeLorme Aerial Data packets containing aerial photos, satellite images, and USGS 7.5-minute quad maps.

The Earthmate GPS PN-20 is compact and ruggedly built to withstand weather and the rigors of outdoors. It has large buttons for ease of use, and a high volume 10,000 data point capacity.

The Earthmate GPS PN-20 will have a target retail price of $199.95 for the device and included world base map software. The anticipated price for the Earthmate GPS PN-20 with DeLorme Topo USA 5.0 software, providing full U.S. topographic coverage, is only $299.95. This price includes $50 worth of Aerial Data Packet downloads.
