DeLorean drives into park row.

A 'HOMECOMING' for the Belfast-built De Lorean De Lorean may refer to:
  • John De Lorean, American businessman who founded the De Lorean Motor Company
  • De Lorean Motor Company, an automobile manufacturer, based in Northern Ireland
  • De Lorean DMC-12, the single automobile produced by the DeLorean Motor Company
 car has driven into trouble.

The DeLorean Owners Association (NI) had asked Moyle District Council Moyle District Council is a Local Council in County Antrim in the north-east corner of Northern Ireland. It covers a largely rural area of approximately 190 square miles (including 42 miles of coastline) and has a population of 15,000.  for free use of the Giant's Causeway car park during a weekend celebrating the 25th anniversary of the gull-winged collectable.

But the May 28 event coincides with the Bank Holiday weekend and Sinn Fein councillors argued DeLorean owners should pay like everyone else.

Sinn Fein Councillor Cathal Newcombe asked: "Are we going to turn the Giant's Causeway into a showroom for secondhand cars?"

However, the proposal to waive the charges was agreed.

Around 250 DeLorean owners will come from all over Europe, the US and even Hong Kong and Australia and the cavalcade cav·al·cade

 will be escorted by police.

Event organiser Corinne Weatherup said: "Given the public's fascination with the DeLorean we expect this cavalcade to generate substantial media interest and visitors."
