DeFazio to travel around the region.

Oregon 4th District Rep. Peter DeFazio Peter Anthony DeFazio (born May 27, 1947) is an American politician. He serves as a Democratic U.S. Representative from Oregon, representing the 4th Congressional District and is currently serving his 11th term.  will travel from the coast to the valley and back to the coast March 11 through March 18.

The congressman will tour the Siuslaw Coast Guard station, visit the Florence airport and host Social Security "town hall" meetings in Florence, Veneta, Eugene, North Bend North Bend is the name of several places in the United States of America:
  • North Bend, Nebraska
  • North Bend, Ohio
  • North Bend, Oregon
  • North Bend, Washington
  • North Bend Rail Trail
  • North Bend State Park
, Port Orford, Brookings, Lakeside and Reedsport.

DeFazio will start the visits by watching a lifeboat deployment demonstration and touring the Siuslaw Coast Guard station on Monday.

Later that day he will attend the dedication ceremony for the Florence airport's new Automated au·to·mate

He will spend the rest of the day continuing his special Social Security town hall meeting tour. He has scheduled 15 such public forums throughout Southwestern Oregon in February and March to discuss the future and financial solvency of Social Security.

DeFazio introduced legislation in December that would preserve Social Security for future generations, cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans, and increase benefits for those most in need.

Monday - 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., town hall, City Hall, 88184 Eighth St., Veneta.

Monday - 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., town hall, Harris Hall, 125 E. Eighth Ave., Eugene.

March 15 - noon to 1 p.m., town hall, City Council Chamber, 835 California St., North Bend

March 15 - 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., town hall, City Hall, 555 W. 20th St., Port Orford.

March 18 - 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., town hall, Chetco Public Library, 405 Alder alder (ôl`dər), name for deciduous trees and shrubs of the genus Alnus of the family Betulaceae (birch family), widely distributed, especially in mountainous and moist areas of the north temperate zone and in the Andes.  St., Brookings.
