DeCopier Technologies receives U.S. Patent for new technology that

removes ink from paper and makes it reusable

DeCopier Technologies, Inc., of Framingham, Mass., today announced that it has been awarded a Patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office The United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO or USPTO) is an agency in the United States Department of Commerce that provides patent protection to inventors and businesses for their inventions, and trademark registration for product and intellectual property  for its cutting-edge "decopier" technology, which has received significant praise world-wide for its innovative technological breakthrough.

"We are excited about receiving this patent," said Sushil Bhatia, the founder of DeCopier Technologies, Inc. "This patent will enable us to move forward to fulfill our business strategy of creating a new industry segment that both increases the security of confidential printed information and decreases the waste and cost of sheets of paper."

The DeCopier(TM) prototype acts like a copier in reverse.

"The method of 'decopying' paper includes applying an ink removal solution to the paper to be decopied. What results is that paper is completely image free and immediately reusable," says Dr. Bhatia. "We've simplified the process now to where it is as easy as copying paper thin unsized paper used for taking copies of letters, etc., in a copying press.

The fully self-contained prototype machine demonstrates this process, and is ultimately expected to decopy at the rate of 60 sheets per minute.
