Dazel Output Management Solution Chosen by Philip Morris U.S.A. to Complement SAP R/3.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 1, 2000

HP Subsidiary Will Help Global, Consumer-Products Company

Improve its Distributed Printing and Faxing Functionality

Dazel, an HP Software Company, today announced that Philip Morris U.S.A. has selected and implemented Dazel's output-management technology, enabling Philip Morris to more securely share internal documents and information in users' preferred format: print, fax, e-mail or Web.

Dazel's Output Server is now available to 2,000 SAP R/3 users within Philip Morris. The transaction also is significant because it highlights the compatibility of Output Server and R/3. On June 14, Hewlett-Packard Company and SAP announced that they would co-develop an advanced output-management solution that builds on the existing compatibility of Dazel's Output Server and SAP's R/3.

"We're very excited to be working with Philip Morris," said Joe Corso, chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president.
for Dazel. "With a global presence that touches every corner of the world, Philip Morris presents the kind of challenge that Dazel willingly embraces."

Dazel's strong, complementary relationships with SAP and HP figured prominently in the transaction. Dazel is an SAP partner and Philip Morris was upgrading its SAP infrastructure. Philip Morris identified output management as a critical component of its upgrade to R/3. In addition, Dazel's status as an HP subsidiary represented a strong endorsement of Dazel's technology.
