Dayton Dayton, city (1990 pop. 182,044), seat of Montgomery co., SW Ohio, on the Great Miami River where it is joined by the Stillwater River; inc. 1805. It is the trade center for a fertile farm area, but is best known for its involvement with industry, invention, and Tire, a company created through consolidation of the manufacturing, marketing and sales units of the Dayton, Road King, house and private brands of Bridgestone/Firestone, opened a headquarters in Oklahoma City Oklahoma City (1990 pop. 444,719), state capital, and seat of Oklahoma co., central Okla., on the North Canadian River; inc. 1890.
