Dayton Superior Corporation Elects New Board Member.

DAYTON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 13, 1999--

Dayton Superior (NYSE:DSD) today announced that Daniel W. Duval has been elected to the Company's Board of Directors, expanding the Board to seven members.

Mr. Duval served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Robbins & Myers, from 1986 to 1998 and is currently Vice Chairman. Robbins & Myers is a publicly held international manufacturer and marketer of fluids management products and systems. Prior to that, he was President and Chief Operating Officer and a Director of Midland-Ross Corporation. John A. In addition to being a Director of Robbins & Myers, Inc., he also serves on the Boards of Arrow Electronics, Inc.; National City Bank; ABC-NACO, Inc.; Gosiger, Inc. and The Danis Companies.

Mr. Duval is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Industrial Management. In addition to his extensive business activities, he has been active over the years in a number of charitable, civic and business organizations. He was Chairman of the United States Air and Trade Show for five years, represented the State of Ohio on the National Association of Manufacturers Board of Trustees for two years and was the Volunteer Area Chair of the U.S. Savings Bond Campaign for 1997 and 1998. He is currently a member of the Wright State University Board of Trustees and, for two years, served as its Chairman.
