:DPL) announced today that The Dayton Power and Light Company (DP&L) has joined The University of Dayton The University of Dayton is one of the ten largest Catholic schools in the United States and is the largest of the three Marianist universities in the nation. ), a collaborative venture between UDRI and the regional manufacturing community to help make information technology affordable and accessible.

"MBU members are our customers. We want local manufacturers to prosper, and what better way than through the help of the MBU and the products and services they offer," explained Steve Wolff, DP&L President of Power Production, who will join the MBU Advisory Council.

Recognizing the importance of manufacturing to the local economy, regional economic development organizations from Dayton and Middletown are also assisting and supporting the effort, including Dayton's CityWide Development Corporation. Organizations at the leading edge of advanced manufacturing technology like Edison Materials Technology Center (EMTEC EMTEC European Multimedia Technologies (formerly BASF Magnetics; as of 2002) ), Ohio Polymer, and the National Composite Center are supporting the initiative as well.
