UNLEASH your inner warrior at the spectacular five-day JORVIK VIKING FESTIVAL in York.

From February 13 to 17, the historic city has lined up more than 100 arts, music, drama and action events to celebrate a fearsome aspect of its heritage.

Highlights, some of which require pre-booking, include:

Wednesday, Feb 13: 6.30pm

COMBAT THROUGH THE AGES, Festival Marquee, St Sampson's Square

Vikings and weaponry experts will be on hand to provide combat displays and talk about the arms and armour used in epic Hollywood films such as The Lord Of The Rings.

Saturday, Feb 16: 6.15pm

EVENING BATTLE: Light and Sound Spectacular, Next to Clifford's Tower
