Daylight Transport Doubles Its Los Angeles Terminal Capacity.

As part of its accelerating growth and continuous service improvements, Daylight Transport has made a purchase that will double their Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  terminal capacity.

This announcement was made today by Doug Waggoner, president of Daylight Transport.

Part of its plan to re-engineer its Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  freight flow network to achieve more efficiency and capacity, Daylight Transport will merge its Anaheim terminal into their expanded Los Angeles complex. The transition will begin on May 14 and be completed by June 1, 2001.

"This new `mega' terminal in Los Angeles will allow Daylight Transport to combine operations from both Los Angeles and Anaheim terminals into one state-of-the-art handling facility," Waggoner stated. "The new, expanded LAX facility will provide improved efficiencies for direct loading and improved line-haul utilization, increasing freight handling and warehousing capacity.

The immediate benefits of the new `mega' terminal for Daylight's customers will be more efficient movement of freight and further reduced transit times between many Southern California locations and the rest of Daylight's regional and national service network.

Daylight Transport also owns an additional 29.2 acres located in Fontana, Calif., where plans for a 200 door facility are underway.

Daylight Transport, with headquarters in Long Beach, Calif., currently provides among the best-expedited long haul Long distance. Long haul implies traversing a state or a country. Contrast with short haul.  and regional LTL and TL service in the nation.
