DayTips.com is one of the largest services of its type on the web, offering 50 free daily and weekly newsletters and ezines to more than a quarter of a million subscribers. And the site is still expanding, explains owner Mickie Kennedy.

"If you don't see a newsletter or ezine of interest to you on your first visit, bookmark A stored location for quick retrieval at a later date. Web browsers provide bookmarks that contain the addresses (URLs) of favorite sites. Most electronic references, large text databases and help systems provide bookmarks that mark a location users want to revisit in the future.  us and keep checking back," he says. "A few of our more unique offerings are 'Poem-a-Day,' which includes a poem by a famous or not-so-famous poet (ranging from classical to contemporary), followed by a short biography; 'ToyTrove,' focusing on toy news, reviews, and collecting tips with an action figure focus; and 'Public Recalls,' which notifies subscribers of newly recalled consumer products," says Kennedy.

Subscribers seem happy with the ad-supported newsletters. "Your 'Living Today' service is excellent! I do a radio show each evening on a country station here in South Dakota South Dakota (dəkō`tə), state in the N central United States. It is bordered by North Dakota (N), Minnesota and Iowa (E), Nebraska (S), and Wyoming and Montana (W). , and 'Living Today' is always part of my daily show prep. Thank you very much for the information," wrote one. Another subscriber told of how the 'Public Recalls' newsletter had prompted the local Ford dealership to fix her daughter's car for free. "Thank you so much for these recalls," she wrote.

Kennedy established DayTips.com in late 1998. At that time the site offered just one free newsletter. DayTips.com now sends out over 290,000 newsletters each day on several dozen topics. The site and the newsletters are ad-supported, but DayTips.com has a firm policy against selling or renting subscriber names.
