8 has released some of its new product plans and announce its newest management additions, Jack Kolk and Gary Dailey.

The People

Jack Kolk joined Interex/XLR8 in September, 1998. Now, as Vice President of the XLR8 Division, and Interex International Sales, Kolk is leading the company through the development of a broad range of Mac focused products in a variety of categories. DayStar Digital, Inc., was founded in 1983 by Andrew Lewis as a subcontract manufacturer of electronic assemblies and circuit boards. In 1986, the company released memory upgrades for Apple Macintosh Computers, its first product.

Gary Dailey formally joined Interex/XLR8 this month as the Product Manager for the XLR8 division. Dailey's decade of experience at DayStar as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development -- followed by his own venture in research and development at GDTS -- has provided the experience and staff capable to complete development, and drive the aggressive schedules of the new business initiatives. Gary's staff consists of former, seasoned DayStar technicians, engineers and support personnel.

The Products

The XLR8 team continues on its developmental track that was initiated mid 1998. The product initiatives include a range of products that fill the needs of the Mac Power User. Formal product announcements are targeted for February, with shipments soon to follow on many of the new products.

In addition to the continued improvement of existing products -- such as the recently released, full compatibility and performance software upgrade for the MACh Speed products -- the XLR8 team is putting the final wraps on a number of products, including the following:

o iMac Hub - Designed to be compact, and visually compatible.

o Dual Port PCI cards A circuit board that plugs into the computer's PCI bus and contains the control electronics for a peripheral device. Starting in the latter half of the 1990s, PCI became very popular. See PCI.
