Day-Timer Digital Inc. and Zcentral Join Forces to Create the Ultimate Online Organizer.


LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 1999--

Zcentral, a new type of online organizer, and Day-Timers Inc., the time-management solutions company, Tuesday announced an agreement in principle under which Zcentral will purchase the Day-Timer Digital online calendaring service for an undisclosed amount.

The agreement creates powerful synergies for both Zcentral and Day-Timers, including the technological enhancement of the Day-Timer Digital service and the development of mutually beneficial Adj. 1. mutually beneficial - mutually dependent

Day-Timer Digital is a free customized calendar that integrates personal, professional and public event planning Event planning is the process of planning a festival, ceremony, competition, party, or convention.

Event planning includes budgeting, establishing date and alternate date (rain date), selecting and reserving the event site, acquiring permits, and coordinating transportation
, with community calendaring functions to be added shortly. In one calendar, users can combine their personal events -- parties, business meetings and lunch appointments -- with the public events they choose to have delivered to their desktop.

Zcentral, which launched April 15, is a new type of online organizer. Included in these free Web-based suite of applications is a fully integrated, self-populating and self-updating address book, calendar with three different levels of access, e-mail, 20 MB of storage space and conference room capabilities through AT&T Click2Dial. Version 3.0, which launches late August '99, will include telephonic access for off Web use and sync software for use with all handheld PIM's, such as the new Palm Pilot VII's and programs such as MS Outlook.

The parties intend to complete the sale of Day-Timer Digital during the third quarter. The agreement remains subject to execution of a definitive agreement and certain approvals and undisclosed conditions.
